Overview¶

The License page in the RP-PAM portal displays your current license status, usage, and expiry. It helps you track how close you are to your licensed limits and plan for renewals.

Navigate to License in the sidebar (requires admin role).

Dashboard Elements¶

Usage Stats¶

Four stat cards at the top show:

Card	What It Shows
License Tier	Standard, Enterprise, or MSP
Users	Active users / maximum allowed (percentage)
Resources	Managed resources / maximum allowed
Days Remaining	Days until license expiry

Usage Bar¶

A visual bar shows user consumption as a percentage of the license limit:

Percentage	Colour	Meaning
0–79%	Green	Normal usage
80–99%	Yellow	Approaching limit — plan for expansion
100%	Red	At limit — new user creation blocked

Warning Banners¶

Condition	Who Sees It	Banner
License expires in ≤ 30 days	License Admins	Yellow: "License expires in X days"
License expires in ≤ 14 days	All admins	Yellow warning
License expires in ≤ 7 days	All portal users	Red: urgent renewal notice

License Replacement¶

RP-PAM accepts one active license at a time. Importing a new license replaces the current one — licenses do not stack.

Import Flow¶

Navigate to License → Import License
Upload the new .jwt license file
RP-PAM displays a comparison table:

Confirm: "Importing this license will replace your current license."
New license is active immediately

Downgrade Protection¶

If the new license has lower limits than your current usage, the import is blocked:

Current usage (200 users) exceeds the new license limit (100 users). Reduce usage before importing, or contact Ravenphyre for a license that matches your requirements.

The blocking screen shows exactly what exceeds: - Users: 200 active vs. 100 allowed - Resources: 450 vs. 200 allowed - Nodes: 3 vs. 1 allowed

This prevents accidental downgrades from locking people out.

Upgrades¶

Importing a license with higher limits applies immediately: - All existing users, resources, grants, and configuration remain intact - The new limits take effect instantly - No downtime or restart required

MSP License View¶

MSP license holders see additional information:

Field	Description
Envelope Total	Maximum users across all tenants
Allocated	Sum of user allocations across tenants
Unallocated	Remaining users available to assign
Per-Tenant Table	Each tenant's allocation vs. actual usage

MSP admins can reallocate users between tenants from this view. The sum of allocations cannot exceed the envelope total.

Renewal Process¶

Note the expiry date on the License dashboard
Contact Ravenphyre support (support@ravenphyre.net) at least 30 days before expiry
Ravenphyre issues a renewed license JWT
Import the renewed license via the portal

Tip: Set a calendar reminder for 30 days before expiry. The license dashboard shows warnings, but an external reminder ensures you don't miss it.
